10 Things to DO if you are in an accident
If you are involved in an automobile accident, there are certain things you can do to protect yourself and your interests. The following is a list of what we recommend you should do if you are in an automobile accident:
1. STOP. Never drive away from the scene of an accident as it can be a crime.
2. CALL THE POLICE. Even if you think that there are no injuries, it is a good idea to call the police. You may need a police report to file a claim with your insurance company, even if it is just to make a claim for damage to your vehicle.
3. GET A COPY OF YOUR CAR INSURANCE POLICY. This will assist you in determining what medical payments coverage you might have, the car rental benefit, the other limits of liability.
4. KEEP DETAILED NOTES. Make sure you tell the police or EMTS exactly what happened, to the best of your ability. It is generally note a good idea for you to try to assess your condition immediately after the accident. Often, the pain and injuries from motor vehicle accidents become apparent hours after the actual collision.
5. TAKE PICTURES. Of both the vehicles and the scene.
6. EXCHANGE INFORMATION. you should obtain the name, address and telephone number of all persons involved in the accident, drivers and passengers alike. You should also obtain information about insurance by asking to see the insurance card for all vehicles involved in the accident.
7. CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. Notify your insurance company as soon as possible.
8. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. If you have pain or discomfort you should seek medical attention at your local emergency room or by seeing your family physician.

Workers’ compensation is a system of law established to help people who are injured at work or have illness suffered while working. The benefits include lost wages (known as “indemnity benefits”), payment of medical bills, vocational rehabilitation, and sometimes, payment for permanent impairments and mileage. Workers compensation is an administrative process at the State Labor Department in Concord New Hampshire it is not a court process. Weekly indemnity benefits are paid to an injured employee if the injury prevents the employee from working. Under the law, if you are totally disabled from working, you are entitled to weekly benefits of 60% of your gross average weekly wage. In addition any reasonable and necessary medical bills incurred as a direct result of the injury must be paid by the insurance carrier.
